Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson discussed QB Rex Grossman's strengths. Wilson said, "The thing that impresses me first and foremost is his instincts. He can feel the rush without seeing it and reads the secondary very well. He has an exceptionally strong and quick arm, but I'd probably rank his instincts No. 1 as far as his greatest strength." When asked what Grossman needed to improve on, Wilson said, "Sometimes he may get a little overaggressive. But it's hard because that's what makes him great as well. He's able to make the big play because he is aggressive. We just have to make sure that he goes through his progressions and just try not to force things to happen." Wilson added that he believes Grossman has the potential to become a top NFL quarterback and that the only thing he lacks is game experience.

I would say durability is another thing he lacks.
This guy has never played more than a couple games a season due to injuries....and to hear most Bear fans tell the story...he is the second coming to Lord himself.

I put about as much stock in what Wilson has to say as I do Sean Salisbury.....NONE

When I saw the title of this thread I said WHAT?????? Grossman the top NFL QB -- Who's been smoking what?
I figured it was written by the same sportswriter that picked the Vikings to finish dead last in our division!

yeah, he lacks game experience and physical strength to stay healthy past 2 games. go figure, its wade wilson, hes probably comparing himself to grossman, and then yeah hes going to be a top QB. i was never impressed with grossman, just because he could beat the vikings, hell, mcmahon and kyle boller look like HOF when they played the vikes two years ago.

When Grossman has played a 16 game season and finished in the top 5 in QB rating then Wade can start to talk, but until then he is a prospect that can't stay on the field.

Exactly. The kid definitely has potential, but he has yet to show it on the field through a whole season; it doesn't help him that the Bears don't have any decent receivers either.

Well let's look at his stats:

2003 3 games, 38-72 437 yds 2tds, 1 int 74.9 rat
2004 3 games, 47-84 607 yds 1td 3 ints 67.9 rat
2005 2 games, 20-39 259 yds 1td 2 ints 59.7 rat

Giving him a career QB rating of 68.8

Thats worse than Trent Dilfer, Josh McCown, Brooks Bollinger, Joey Harrington, Gus Frerotte, Kyle Boller and Anthony Wright.

Best QB in the NFL???? Sounds about right. :lol:
