Grossman gets his starting job back!!!

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Rex Grossman's rescue effort elevated him back to starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

Grossman, who replaced struggling rookie Kyle Orton in the second half Sunday night and led the Bears to a 16-3 win over the Atlanta Falcons, will start at Green Bay when Chicago can clinch the NFC North.

"He was our starter before he went down and we have a lot of faith in him. We think he gives us our best chance to win," Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday in announcing the switch.

Grossman tore a ligament in his knee in the third game last season and didn't return. This year, he broke his ankle in a preseason game Aug. 12. He missed 26 games over the last two seasons, but the long hours of rehab have finally brought him back to a starter's role.

Grossman, a first-round pick in 2003, will be making just his seventh NFL start Sunday. He completed 9 of 16 passes for 93 yards in the second half against the Falcons, showing no problems with his legs and displaying a strong arm.

"It was fun to feel healthy and get the accuracy back. It came together very quickly," Grossman said.

The Bears are 10-4 and had an eight-game winning streak with Orton as quarterback before a loss to Pittsburgh on Dec. 11.

Yah he looked pretty good last night.. I'm kinda scared about this.. He adds another player to the O.. They could be pretty scary when he gets into the swing of things.. He was hitting his passes.. Orton wasn't and they were still winning.. They could make a real push

If I was Orton I would be pretty pissed. He has played for the Bears all year(even though he has kind of sucked) but they are winning football games. Now hotshot Rex comes in and steals his job.

Yup, but what if it doenst happen. Then who do we need to lose in order for us to get into the wildcard? Or is that even possible at this point?

If Dallas, Atlanta, and Washington lose next week which is very possible and we win then we go into our game with Chicago controlling our destiny.

As i see it, Atlanta can win and we will still control our own destiny.. Their NFC Record is only 5-5..

We need a Redskin loss and a Dallas loss.. Dallas only cause of Strenght of Schedule and Victory..

Atlanta did beat us in a head to head matchup so they would hold the tiebreaker on us.
