Favre is way to inconsistent to be the "best ever". Remember that playoff game about 4 years ago ? The Packers go into the Rams' house and Favre throws like 5 INTs, totally destroying the Packers. Great QBs don't try to do it all. They operate as part of a team. Whenever I watch Favre, I think I am watching the "Brett Favre" show, with the "supporting cast" of other players. It is kind of ridiculous.

What has Favre won since 1996/7 ? All he has done is throw interceptions and destroy the chances of his team.

Remember the Eagles game about 3 years ago ? NFC Championship Game. Favre had a receiver wide open with 4th and 6, and overthrew him. Can you imagine Elway or Montana overthrowing that guy ?

Favre is the most overhyped QB of all time.

QBs better than Favre, overall in their careers:

    1. Montana (by far, the best ever !!)
    2. Elway ("the Drive", plus 2 rings)
    3. Marino (never blew his team up like Favre)
    4. Peyton Manning (can anyone argue here ?)
    5. Tom Brady (3 rings since 2000, even if they did cheat)
    6. Dan Fouts (one of the best ever)
    7. Archie Manning (great QB on horrific teams)
    8. Unitas (duh !!)
    9. Ken Anderson (the highest completion % careerwise)
    10. Tarkenton (many more TDs in far fewer seasons)
    11. Phil Sims (great in the playoffs, unlike Fav-Ray)
    12. Warren Moon
    13. Jim Hart
    14. Jim Kelly (4 Super Bowls)
    15. Bradshaw (4 rings)
    Is this your list?

It's funny how you base a lot of stats.
    Stats are useless.
And you got Bradshaw at 15?

    Wow, just wow.
    ROTF!!!

At least he got Montana right.
    Archie in front of Unitas?

    Wow, just wow!
Yeah, I have a soft spot for Archie (growing up in LA)....but no way does he rank that high.
He could have been better with a better team...but we will never really know.

    3)Manning
    4)Favre
    5)Marino

Joe Montana, cool under pressure, he did have a great team around him though, but without him I don't know how successful they all would have been.

Brady, fistful of rings, puts up very good numbers, may even have betters stats than Manning this year.

Manning, he's probably the smartest player I've ever seen obviously the stats are there he's gonna kill Favre's records. Being a "6'5 230 pound quarterback with a laser-rocket arm" doesn't hurt much either.

Brett Favre, I know we all hate him, but I have tremendous respect for the man. Durable, fearless, gunslinger, super bowl ring.

Marino, the only one without a ring. He was one hell of a QB though, can't take anything away from him.

I don't dare to put out a list, as I'm not real sure on the older QBs, I still have a lot to learn about history of the NFL

But let us see your top 15 hotshot.
I have a good grasp of NFL History.
But I do not do lists.
    I hate them.

Although this list is his opinion, I gave mine...hotshot II.

    I agree more with this.
I would try and squeeze Unitas in there, but good list.
I do hate Favre, but I am not dumb to what he has accomplished.

You gotta put Manning ahead of Brady...give Manning the Putzie defense and he wins MORE SBs than Brady does.

Remember I first started watching the NFL in the mid 90ies, about when we had Moon starting.

And the coverage were very sparse. The best I remember seeing play - and that's really what I feel I can relate to, is Elway. He were the man as I recall. I remember I thought Aikman were good too, as well as Steve Young. Montana had just retired before they started airing the NFL here, so I only saw the clips they showed of him, to compare him to others.

Nowadays I just enjoy watching Brady and Manning play. You have to give some credit to Favre because of what he keeps accomplishing, but I'll never really like his ugly technique. But I guess I'm also a tad biased in that regard.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Johhny Unitas would have to be at the top of my list....

But watching Manning play the game, he may be on his way there, he is very close at this time....

Wow.....no mention of Otto Graham or Sammy Baugh. Hmmmm....Graham took the Browns to the championship game in all 10 of his seasons. He won 7 of them. I know its the AAFC at the time, but dang....that's pretty impressive.

    - His record with the Cleveland Browns ~ 105-17-4
    - Retired with 86.6 passer rating
    - 88 TD passes in 10 years

I like to watch him but don't think he is top ten material.
    Definately 10-15 area though.
    Sorry Marrdro.
Ken "The Snake" Stabler is definately not top ten material but he did beat the Vikings in super bowl XI.
