    Gophers Drafted in 2006

    Eslinger, Greg C 6-3 291 6 198 Denver
    Maroney, Laurence RB 6-0 216 1 21 New England
    Montgomery, Anthony DT 6-5 301 5 153 Washington
    Setterstrom, Mark G 6-4 315

    ***********

Will Setterstrom be drafted with only a handful of picks left?

Did anyone wonder if the Pats took Maroney so the Colts couldn't have him? I thought it was a good pick up for them. Dillon seems to be on a decline. Dillon has been injured quite a bit lately. I think that Maroney could be successful there. I also like how they picked up Maroney and Jackson, WOW!!! Put them with Brady.. I just hate having to want Maroney to be successful and having to be happy for him doing well for the Pats, that really sucks.

    New England:

    1 21 Maroney, Laurence RB 6-0 216 Minnesota
    2 36 Jackson, Chad WR 6-1 212 Florida
    3 86 Thomas, Dave TE 6-3 239 Texas
    4 106 Mills, Garrett TE 6-1 227 Tulsa
    4 118 Gostkowski, Stephen K 6-2 210 Memphis
    5 136 O'Callaghan, Ryan G 6-7 343 California
    6 191 Mincey, Jeremy DE 6-4 258 Florida
    6 205 Stevenson, Dan G 6-5 297 Notre Dame
    6 206 Smith, Le Kevin DT 6-3 315 Nebraska
    7 229 Andrews, Willie CB 5-9 182 Baylor

I am happy for Eslinger, to go to a club like the Broncos and their tradition of awesome O lines. Seems like they got a steal for their last pick in the draft. They always seem to draft well. They are always just filling holes and only partially building for the future. They stay ahead of their needs.

    Broncos Draft:

    1 11 Cutler, Jay QB 6-3 225 Vanderbilt
    2 61 Scheffler, Tony TE 6-5 255 Western Michigan
    4 119 Marshall, Brandon WR 6-4 230 Central Florida
    4 126 Dumervil, Elvis DE 5-11 258 Louisville
    4 130 Hixon, Domenik WR 6-2 192 Akron
    5 161 Kuper, Chris G 6-4 302 North Dakota
    6 198 Eslinger, Greg C 6-3 291 Minnesota

    Montgomery, Anthony?????

I'm glad that Maroney went to a quality place, I always liked him! I wish him the best of luck, except for when he plays the vikings, and hopefully he can beat out Corey Dillon at the starting RB position!

I always liked Dillon, but his end is nearing. Plus, have to pull for Maroney.

Like I said before, I thought that we might pick up one of the MN guys for our line. It would have been nice. I can't believe Setterstrom took so long to be picked.

^^^ I'm very interested. I'm happy for the four Gophers who got drafted and I'm also excited for Chris Kuper from North Dakota. We also signed the MLB from the Gophers, Kyle Mckenzie I think it was. I doubt he'll make it with us, but he could be a good special teamer/situational guy for someone else.

Kind of off the topic, but John Shevlin will be a STUD LB by the time he leaves Minnesota. Go gophers.
