Tom Kowalski, of MLive.com, reports Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz will stay in Detroit, according to WR Mike Furrey. "We've talked the last couple of days, he wanted to know if (the contract) was done. He said he's coming back to Detroit. What he's told me, he's coming back to Detroit," Furrey said. Martz's name has come up as a potential candidate for the Dallas Cowboys' head coaching position. Lions head coach Rod Marinelli said the Cowboys have not yet asked for permission to speak with Martz.

Martz's offense wasn't too bad this year. They were in the middle of the league, which isn't that bad when you have Jon Kitna as your QB and underachieving WRs (kind of like our team). The sad thing about the Lions is (if you're a Lions fan) that they were in a lot of games this year.

The line between winning and losing in the NFL is obviously slim, but the Lions had some heartbreakers this year. They lost 8 games by a TD or less and lost 10 by 8 points or less.
