The lead singer of The Cure?

I guess they named NFLPA General Counsel Richard Berthelsen as the interim replacement.

You must really be under pressure, getting up way too early.

Smith is a good possibility of a replacement. So is Steve Jordan. So two former Vikes could get the helm.

I'm not trying to be a smart-aleck but what age do you all consider it NOT TO EARLY to pass away?

    Re: Gene Upshaw Passes Away

Trying to be realistic here, I would say that the "not too early" age would be 55.
at around 50ish, is usually when people start having problems, whether it be heart, liver, back, etc.
Its when the body starts to kick your ass for putting it through all youve done in your younger years.
If someone were to die when they're 55, sure its early, but less shocking than someone dying when their 30 IMO.
When i turn 50, i'm sure my view on that will change, but I'm just trying to look at it realistically.
Really, IMO 63 is not way too early.

Its earlier than we'd like, but 30 is way too early, 63 is just unfortunate.

In only asked the question to make people think. You are on the right track. At what age to die it too early changes with your age. Being nearly 70 myself, I think that's too early to die. But death is no respecter of age.

Fair question Cojo. These days I'd say that I'd consider anything before 65 was too early to pass on. Most people are only just getting to retirement and still have years to look forward to and enjoy. Guess with many of my family going well into their mid/late 80's then much prior to that seems just plain wrong.
