Maybe the Rolling Stones were wrong all those years ago – maybe it's not such a drag getting old.
When Mick Jagger and Keith Richards look out on the field during the Stones' halftime show at the Super Bowl, they might actually spot some contemporaries.
Planners originally sought people ages 18 to 45 to take the field and dance at Detroit's Ford Field on Feb. 5. But after hearing from older fans who wanted in on the action, the NFL said it would accept dancers beyond 45.
"We wanted to open it up," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said yesterday.
The NFL is offering 2,000 people a chance to watch the Stones play at the half. They will be expected to dance, sing and cheer.
The league had said the reason for the age cutoff was that the job is physically challenging, with volunteers on their feet for long periods.
Jagger's in good shape for the band's long shows, but haven't NFL folks seen the 60-something Richards up there on his feet?

That's great. I love that song, and the Stones in general, but personally, I prefer these "improved" lyrics. I think that the caption from the website I got it from (clayloomis.com) says it best:

In case you missed the Chinese Rock & Roll giants "The Dragons", here is a clip from their 1982 blockbuster album "Parfums De La Revolution." Released by the country that has always defined rock innovation, France, this Chinese group is going to pile-drive over western rock like a giant eggroll. This is a clip of their cover version of The Stones "Get Off Of My Cloud." But The Dragons are a Rock & Roll powerhouse! They've updated Mick's limp lyrics to be more cutting edge, more in-your-face. Sure, some folks say that inept phonetic English is the cause, but, "No!", I say. Where Mick just sings, "Hey, you, get off of my cloud", the musical genius behind The Dragons gives us-
Hey, Jew, get my car!

Keith Moon's cooler than you, and he's dead!!! But he's still rockin' in heaven!!!!! :headbang:

Re: Geezers to NFL: Get off our cloud
Whatever, the Rollings Stones will probably be a better halftime show than the craptacular live Black eyed Peas at the Grey Cup.
Re: Geezers to NFL: Get off our cloud
I'm not incredibly excited about the Stones at half time. I've never been big on them anyway, and now they're about 1,000. I say just play the damn game!
Re: Geezers to NFL: Get off our cloud
i am for a complete elimination of the halftime entertainment.... its a waste of time, even if there are bands i like.
Re: Geezers to NFL: Get off our cloud
Psh.. We need to bust out some jazz in the half-time show...
Harry Connich Jr.. and Big Bad Voodo Daddies.. and play some other greats..
thatd be good.. they've done it before, dont remember which year off the top of my head
