    Gain Adams (bears defensive end) Passes Away

    Former Clemson University football star Gaines Adams, 26, died this morning after he was taken to the Emergency Room at Self Regional in Greenwood, County Coroner James T. Coursey said.

    Adams, a defensive end, was the fourth player chosen in the 2007 National Football League draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was traded from Tampa Bay to the Chicago Bears in October.

    An autopsy will be performed today by a forensic pathologist in Anderson County, Coursey said.

    Wow. Not much detail at all on his death thus far. Will be interesting to see what his autopsy reveals.

    I have e-mailed the NFLPA about finding a solution to these fatal accidents and an idea of pre-draft or training camp heart screenings that would be obligatory for the players.

    It will save lifes in the long run..

    This is a shame and my thoughts go out to his family and friends!

    Way to young and something that with the extensive medical exams the players go through probably should have been discovered.
