Defensive end Dwight Freeney has spent his entire football career chasing and sacking quarterbacks. Now, he's going to be paid as the premier player at his position.....

i was with a colts fan when he saw this. he liked it a lot. and then we talked about how much money the team has into 4 players. then we talked about how bad the vikings are. nice time it was.

Pretty insane money for a DE.
Yeah it will be interesting to see if they have any cap trouble later on (Manning's gets pretty spendy in a couple years).
At least they don't have to worry about giving any unproven top draft picks a load of money any time soon.
::)

damn thats a lot of money!!! hes a good DE but jeeeeez
Re: Freeney signs $72 million deal with Colts
For $72,000,000 they can keep him...

Re: Freeney signs $72 million deal with Colts
That's a lot of money, I wonder who will be the first $100 million player.
Re: Freeney signs $72 million deal with Colts
These monster contracts could ruin the Colts....sure these bigger players are amazing but they don't make up a whole team. Freeney didn't do so well last year anyways.
Re: Freeney signs $72 million deal with Colts
jesus.. $30 million signing bonus?
Re: Freeney signs $72 million deal with Colts
Over paid he is not worth 12 million a year!
Julian Peppers is better than Freeney!
I would like to have him on the Vikes but he isn't worth that money, that's over 1/10 of your entire payroll.
Daunte had a 10 year 100 million contract but he never could have reached all of the incentives.

Didn't favre get a 100 million deal with his lifetime contract.
In baseball A-rod is going to get at least 30 million a year. His last contract was 10 years $250,000,000.00.
