Free agents not free, as first week shows

Free agents not free, as first week shows

Ink is drying on the initial, furious wave of NFL free-agency contracts and now it's time to analyze: Which teams spent thoughtfully this first week? Which teams lost their minds a little bit, kind of like when the doors swing open at Best Buy at 5 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving and everyone gets trampled trying to grab that last Nintendo Wii?....

Very very interesting read my friend. Thanks.

There is a run on faith - teams want to believe someone like wide receiver Bernard Berrian (signed by the Vikings) or running back Michael Turner (signed by the Falcons) will make them into a Super Bowl contender.
I wonder how many really believe that Berrian makes us a SB contender?
:

I for one think he is a nice piece that is a part of the puzzle, but there has to be alot of other pieces that need to step up and play to thier potential for that to become a reality.

a.
TJ. Lots of talent, needs to be consistent.
b.
OL.
Pass protection has to improve.
c.
DL.
Gotta get some pressure boys.
d. WR (total unit)
e. ST's.
Need a few more big plays, good punting, high FG perentage and some damn good tackling.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Trying to repair some damage your optimism has caused?

Of course we will win the SB. See reasons f-z.

this part really hits us too

Did having a "shutdown corner" and a quality safety make the 49ers' defense appreciably better? Unfortunately for the 49ers, no.

Proving yet again that an NFL secondary is only as strong as the seven players in front of it, the 49ers' defense allowed 3,571 passing yards in 2006 - before Clements and Smith - and 3,643 passing yards in '07. A cornerback can't cover effectively if there is no pass rush.
