Re: Fred Smoot Looking Good
For what he costed us, and how he performed on the field, I am glad he's gone.
Yesterday it said Charles Gordon and Cedric Griffin each had a pick themselves. I think we are better off without Smoot.
But yeah, it's because he's playing really hard to impress his new/old team. He'll wear off in a few weeks.

Re: Fred Smoot Looking Good
WTF!!! he pisses me off. last year he played 5 yrds of his man and now he is actually playing defense, picking off balls, and tackling players come on.

Re: Fred Smoot Looking Good
Jeez I know how he performed here was not how he played in washington. The first time I was hoping that kinda play would have been happening here. well maybe it was the scheme, or coaching I would say the talent around him in that secondary just overshadowed him and he couldn't keep pace with Winfield,Sharper,Smith,Griffin and Blue.

I don't know. I want to blame Smoot, and I usually do, but if the play calling was designed to have him play off, then that's the coaches fault.

It was the scheme.
Smoot is not a bad player.
He did not fit our defense, and he was overpaid.
But he was not a bad player.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Talk about selective listening.
Three different people posted after your first post and mentioned that the coach and scheme probably had something to do with it.
But you don't reply until someone agrees wth you,..Zeus wrote:

They intentionally had all our DB's playing off their man.
