Re: Four 'Contenders' in Serious Trouble

...Chicago and Green Bay are now each 4-4, three games behind Minnesota in the NFC North. More important, they're nowhere near as good and the Packers already have lost twice to the Vikings.

The problem with the both is that they're simply not very good, despite the continuing maturation of Aaron Rodgers as Brett Favre's successor for the Packers. The Bears" QB situation? At this point, they might want Kyle Orton and those draft picks back and send Jay Cutler back to Denver, although 86 points allowed in two games speaks to a much deeper formula.

But at least they haven't lost to Tampa Bay...

    LOL.
    Chicago is a weird team.
I wouldn't count them out just yet.
Their losses are against decent opponents such as the Packers, Falcons, Bengals and Cardinals.
None of which are terrible teams.
Remember the Pack went into that game with a lot of confidence after their preseason plus it was the first game of the year.
They also beat the Steelers so they have proven they can beat the better teams.

We still have to play them twice.
If we can beat them on the 29th (and win against the Lions and Asshawks) I would say at 10-1 the Vikings would have all but clinched the division.
Of course anything could happen but the Bears are a threat as it stands right now.
Hopefully their secondary continues to suck it up because their offense is starting to click.
Cutler, although a little baby, can make things happen and is dangerous.
Hopefully Allen and company can trat him worse than they treated Rodgers.
