Re: Forte stacks up evenly with AD
Thanks for the laugh!
1 last season. Notoriety achieved?Consider notorious fumbling issues Peterson has had
Has gotta be the most biased article I've read lately.
Basically says: Peterson has more yards, has a better average, but he's terrible at fumbling, so it's even because Forte is a bit better at receiving.
What a laugh.
If you're going to write an article like that, at least pick a back that it's a legitimate argument. Someone who's consistently played at an elite level. MJD and Ray Rice come to mind. Forte's good, but come one.

Re: Forte stacks up evenly with AD
They were talking about this on the power trip and like Morris said:
Just call all 32 GM's and DC's and ask which of the two they would rather have on their team or defend against. That would pretty much sum it up.
That being said, I do think Forte is a pretty complete WCO RB and AP is better suited to be in a Dallas/Pitt offense but that is another debate....

Re: Forte stacks up evenly with AD
I can agree to that. But that's not what the article says. Article claims Forte is the best back in the division.

Yeah, and that is obviously written by an complete tool. A statement like that would be a stretch for even DeFroster.

Claiming the best back in the league is second best in his division?

Re: Forte stacks up evenly with AD
One of the most unbelievable pieces of drivel ever written.
There is nowhere close to ANY evidence backing up this assertion. I saw this on I think FoxSports yesterday and considered posting it here, but then got back to work before I got worked up.
Forte's BEST year rushing the football was not as good as AD's lowest. Forte only has ONE year of total yards from scrimmage that would break any of AD's seasons.
He is not HALF the rusher that AD is, and honestly is not that much better of a receiver, though he is better in that category by some.
As for fumbles. AD has fumbled once every 62.7 touches in his NFL career. Forte has fumbled once every 98.2 touches. That is definitely better, but it is not like Forte NEVER fumbles.
And it is clear that AD turned a corner last season when he fumbled once every 319 touches and Forte fumbled once every 96 touches.

Re: Forte stacks up evenly with AD
Joyner, who has a website called The Football Scientistand that would be like taking a PPO thread about TJ and presenting to Vikes to keep him as starting QB.Joyner makes a compelling case for Forte being considered among the elite backs in the NFL. The Bears discussed a potential contract extension for Forte before the lockout began. The issue will be raised again soon. What do you bet Forte’s side presents this information to the Bears?
Then again Bears fans and their organisation has as much sense as a box of rocks so they may well go for this article :woohoo:Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

No he doesn't - and he won't numbers-wise either...especially with Mike Martz leading that offense. Case closed - common sense. B)
