BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- The Cleveland Browns have been sacked by the flu.

Coach Eric Mangini said 12 players, including Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers and five other starters, are home with flulike symptoms and he plans to adjust his practice on Wednesday as the team prepares to face the Green Bay Packers this weekend.

Mangini is taking precautions to make sure his players get more rest and the team is taking extra measures to make sure others don't get sick.

He implied that the players had not yet been tested for H1N1 virus.

"We're trying at the first signs of any kind of illness to get the guys home and out of the building," Mangini said. "We're working as hard as we can to promote things to prevent the illness and impressing the importance of things like sleep. It's that time of year and unfortunately we have quite a few guys who are dealing with it. We'll adjust practice, we'll work around it and continue to move forward."

The Browns' sick players are: Rogers, running back Jerome Harrison, center Alex Mack, cornerback Anthony Madison, safety Brodney Pool, tight end Robert Royal, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik, defensive end Brian Schaefering, fullback Lawrence Vickers, defensive end Corey Williams and linebacker Kamerion Wimbley.

Believe that was 2 years ago.

They suck as does everything the Browns are connected to.

I think the Browns and Raiders are in the worst positions in the NFL.
The raiders have dished out big time dollars towards very mediocre players which is going to affect what they can do in rebuilding, not to mention they can't make a half-decent draft pick (verdict still out on McFadden).
But the Browns have absolutely no talent what so ever.
When Josh Cribbs is the best player on your team, something aint right.
I honestly think some European teams could beat these guys right now.

I didn't know a whole team could call in sick.
Ah, yeah, sure we lost, but, we were sick.

Hopefully they cough and sneeze all over the packers during their game..

Kind of suck for them.
Kind of sucks for the Packers.

It isn't like the game can be postponed.
It isn't like it is just one or two guys.
It isn't like when you call in sick at work and someone covers for you, how do you find 12 players to fill in a system that is somewhat complicated like football.


We will see how sick everyone gets or if everyone gets sick.

Pretty sure you could replace 1/3 of the Browns with scarecrows and no one would notice.

Some of the guys on the Browns would be afraid of losing their job if that happens.

For what it is worth, 2 players tested positive for H1N1 so far.
