Re:Five teams can balance attacks with big backs
I'm looking forward to seeing what Gerhart can do. I'm not familiar with him - which not be bad as means I won't have any pre-judgements about him.
Assuming he makes it through TC ok then guess we'll see a lot of him preseason and get an idea of whats coming in the regular season.Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Re:Five teams can balance attacks with big backs
I don't think that Gerhart's yards per carry are going to be high, but he makes a very good point about getting Peterson a breather. Having a fresh Peterson in the 3rd and 4th quarter could absolutely destroy teams.

Re:Five teams can balance attacks with big backs
I was thinking the same thing last season.
There were games where AD just looked fresher late and it seemed to make a big difference. This could be a real chance to keep AD fresh for late game demoralizers.
I personally think Gerhart is a much better "change of pace" kind of fit than Chester was and I think it could really give our offense a different dynamic.
I am looking forward to having him in the lineup and think he will be ready to shine when he gets his opportunities.

I for one believe we will see the following:
a. Short yardage (3rd and short - anyplace on the field)
b. Red Zone (Especially inside the 10 and when we want to chew up the clock and are far enough ahead to settle for 3).
c. Regular, 3 Wide, Single back Set (Any place on the field).
What I think makes him so attractive is that he seems to be sure handed (no fumbles inside the redzone), can be an effective pass blocker as well as a target out of the backfield with 3 wides/1 back sets.
Because of his versatility (at least percieved) he will get more reps that CT IMHO.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Wow. He hasn't had one real practice yet and you're putting him at a higher workload than a 1000+ yard back.Because of his versatility (at least percieved) he will get more reps that CT IMHO.

Whatever, Marty. You flip-flop more than Jimmy Buffet's footgear, so I'm sure you'll find a way to spin it towards your "Aw-shucks" yutziness no matter how the reality pans out.Zeus wrote:
