Childress is ONLY on the hotseat to show that he's compitant, imo.

at least be given 2 more years to get this team together.
Why? The team was 5-11 last year with overall better talent and potential than we had, and Gibbs has already had 3 years to get the most expensive/valued franchise in the league into a deep playoff run. I can understand giving him this one year to try to get another winning season, but the Redskins have been underachieving for way too long for such a large-market team, and Gibbs has made some real questionable decisions throughout. It's a 'what have you done for me lately' league, and what he did 15 years ago before the free agent era is irrelevant to the modern game. The only reason the Redskins did well in 2005 was Williams's excellent D-Coordinator skills and defensive talent. Then the front office, along with Gibbs, destroyed the unit, have overspent on free agents for non-critical needs, and have brought on a terrible offensive strategy.

Danny Snyder would be foolish to not get Greg Williams in the HC spot next year if Gibbs fails again. It's only a matter of time before some team signs the guy to be their HC.

    Wow.
And I thought this horse had been beaten to death already.

Do a search for the thread that compares Tice to Childress if you want to start up this tired argument again...

Meh, if Childress doesn't get us a winning season this year I hope that Wilf buys him out of the contract and goes balls-out for Cowher, who will almost certainly be back next year.
