Re: Fitzgerald wants Out of the Desert?

I take it his contract is up after this year. This is GREAT news for us.We need a number 1, he is a number 1.Hes from Minnesota, has a lot of roots there. If he becomes a FA and Chilly doesn't push for him I will be VERY upset.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Believe it or not, I was actually thinking about this a couple weeks ago.

Being that he's from Minnesota and was once a ball boy for the Vikings, I thought he might favor us while testing Free Agency. Then I come to find out, he's not a free agent this season. I could have sworn he was, but he's not. (Does anyone know when his rookie contract ends?)

So I guess we would have to acquire him through a trade.

Then again, I just can't see the Cardinals letting a player with Larry Fitzgerald's ability walk away from their franchise.

Here are the basics on the Larry Fitzgerald contract from the NFLPA:

    http://www.nflpa.org/Resources/ActivePlayerSearch.aspx?id=35749

    Player Info
    Draft Info

    WR (#)
    Year: 2004

    Arizona Cardinals
    Round: 1

    Minneapolis, MN
    Position: 3

    Salary History
    2004 1050000.00
    2005 305000.00
    2006 3317500.00
    2007 3580000.00
    2008 1092500.00
    2009 1355000.00

Now, of course, this doesn't speak to voidable years or options or anything like that.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Don't be surprised if he doesn't. Childress has made some bonehead offseason decisions in the past... I mean I like most of the picks from the draft, but there are a lot of talented FAs he just let go... he didn't even try.

    Good find Proph!

I think the PTF writer must have Fitz on his fantasy football team, just trying to stir the pot a bit.
    LOL!

I think that this is more credible and seems to jive with the high character guy Fitz seems to be.
High character guy doesn't pull a TO and start talking trash about how the offense doesn't fit him......

Seems to me that Boldin and Fitz have caught many football in AZ.
They will probably do so again this year.
It is just a slow start.

Why would he go from a run 1st offense to another run 1st offense?

I would love to have him!
But if that is the reason he wants out of Arizona then it would make no sense for him to come to Minnesota.

Maybe we could trade T-Will and T-Jack for Larry and Matt!

    Not going to happen!
    Good point Whack!
Would you want to see TJack throw the ball 30-40 times a game? We have no choice but run first.

you mean the complete wash up joe horn? the guy probably wont even go for 600 yards this year..or how about kevin curtis, who is, and will always be nothing more than a slot receiver (we got a good slot receiver in wade)..if there was a receiver out there that wouldve made this a better team long term, then we wouldve made a signing
People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.

David Carr, Jeff Garcia, Daute Stallworth, Keydrick Vincent, Max Starks...

I know the QB FAs I listed will probably draw some heat, but I bet you wish we had either one of them now.
