Fitzgerald on the trading block?
I saw reported on another board that the Cardinals are supposed to be shopping Fitzgerald for trade purposes. Allegedly this has been reported on NFL Network - anyone seen this on NFLN at all?
If true then it would be interesting to see what the Cards are looking for.Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Re: Fitzgerald on the trading block?
Well it would make sense to try an move Fritz.. keep the lower priced Johnson and pick up some draft picks or some Defensive help. Maybe a young stud offensive lineman might be on the wish list as well.
Interesting!

I have not - and PFT isn't reporting it either.
If it is on NFLN, then Adam Scheffer would be the one reporting it, and he is somewhat reliable.
But I would be surprised if the Cards are coming out about trading anybody this early.Zeus wrote:

Re: Fitzgerald on the trading block?
I actually saw it on NFLN and ESPN last night.
Was wondering how long it would take to get it on here.
;D
Sure hope it is true this time. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Fitzgerald on the trading block?
Larry Fitzgerald is the one holding the Cardinals’ checkbook. He is set to make $14.6 million in 2008. The Cardinals have about $30 million to spend, but they want to renegotiate with Fitzgerald to open up funds for the off-season.
Fitzgerald is worth every penny. In his fourth year, Fitzgerald’s productivity has yet to falter. His 1,409 yards placed him fourth in the league and tied a career-high. The Cardinals need to keep their only Pro Bowler happy. Fitzgerald’s notoriety is what the Cardinals will bank on in 2008.

I wanted to see what everyone would think about his CAP hit if we got him.
Wouldn't leave much for a DE.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I don't place any stock in this.
It is probably just Charley Walters dreaming out loud in his column in the Pioneer Press again...Zeus wrote:

thats true but then we could possibly look for a DE in the draft. The alternative would be to get a DE via FA - not sure who will be available - and draft a WR."AngloVike" wrote:

What would be the cap hit for him - $14.6 as he's currently due with the Cards?Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

I think we would be better off getting a FA WR, and looking to the draft for DE. I think a top drafted DE has a better chance at making an immediate impact than a WR. Of course Fitz isn't a FA so we would probably have to give up at least a first round pick."Marrdro" wrote:
