Re: The Final Word Power Poll - Week 10 Edition
Again, my regards to your staff.
Looks like we will face a team below us in the power rankings this weekend.
Kindof funny when you look at the teams we have faced and were they rank in TFWPP.
Sure haven't had to face many of them this year have we?
:
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

The only bright side looking at this is our draft pick position

Actually, record doesn't have much to do with the schedule. Most of next year's schedule is already determined."marstc09" wrote:

Home Games:
* Atlanta
* Carolina
* Houston
* Indianapolis
* Green Bay
* Detroit
* Chicago
Away Games:
* New Orleans
* Tampa Bay
* Jacksonville
* Tennessee
* Green Bay
* Detroit
* Chicago
The remaining two games are determined by where you place in your conference.
Our divisional ranking teams are from the NFC East and West next year (because we already play every team from the NFC South).
That means if the season ended right now, the last two games would be the Eagles and the Rams.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

A few less (on paper) that scare me next year vice what our schedule looked like/is this year.

The schedules are determined by a rotating formula.
* You play each team in your division twice - once home, once away. (six games total)
* You play each team from one other division in the same conference once as you - two games home, two games away.
The schedule is on a three year schedule, and you alternate between home and away games.
If youplayed them at home last (as part of this schedule), then you will play them away the next time, and vice versa. This means that each team will play every other team in the same conference as them at least once every three years.
* You play each team from one other division in the other conference once - two games home, two games away. The schedule is on a four year schedule, and again you alternate between home and away games.
This means that each team will play every other team in the other conference at least once every four years.
* The final two games are determined by your division rank.
You play the two teams in the same conference as you who have the same division rank as you.
Based on that, you can figure out what teams the Vikings will face several years in advance, assuming there isn't a change to the division structure.
Here are Minnesota's scheduled non-division opponents for the next five years:
Year NFC Division AFC Division 2008 NFC South AFC South 2009 NFC West AFC North 2010 NFC East AFC East 2011 NFC South AFC West 2012 NFC West AFC South Zeus wrote:

As always Paul, great stuff.
I googled for that before I posted but couldn't find that much detail.
Were are you pulling it from?
