Re: Favre thinks the Pack can compete at a high level?

Brett Favre needed to retire a couple seasons ago. He's been holding his team back just so he can pad his own career numbers. I actually kinda feel sorry for Aaron Rodgers getting drafted to the Packers, because Favre has been anything BUT a mentor for him to learn under, and he's likely to have a rough start when Golden Boy retires as a result of it.

What's gonna make us all ill, is when Favre does FINALLY hang up his cleats, and the Packers continue to suck, we're going to hear empty-headed drivel like "Boy, the Packers are sure missing Favre right now."

He thinks it is bad at 4-12. This year they may be 2-14.

Well lets look at it this way, if they win just one more game then last year they would have competed at a higher level right?. So he really didn't go out on the limb to far.

Re: Favre thinks the Pack can compete at a high level?

Well, I'm back for once now that the Brees situation has been dealt with.

The Packers should play at a high enough level to earn a top 5 pick for 2007. Favre is just hurting this organization for too much by just taking his time and pondering and then demanding the team to get better players. I know the packers should treat Favre well but this has gone out of control. The team is in an obvious rebuilding phase and I believe the nail in the coffin for Favre's retirement will be WHEN Javon Walker gets traded.

Favre should really think about what's best for the organization that has treated him so well for so long. He can still play at a high level but if he doesn't have the heart or desire that was there when he was younger then I don't know how much he can really provide to the packers.

If anything I think Favre just doesn't want to end his career as leading the league in interceptions for his final year, and for that I don't blame him.
