    Re: Favre Retires

As a fan of the greatest game on earth, thanks for all the memories number 4.
I am truly glad I got to watch you and all the other greats of your era play during my lifetime.

As a Vikings fan, I am typing this after loud screams of joy my friends.

Who cares how good Rodgers is gonna be.
He is still gonna go through some of the same ups and downs that any QB does his first year under center.

This just made my fricken day.

    ;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Thanks for all the great memories Brett.. I wish you nothing but happiness if this is truly your decision.

This day was going to come at some point, kind of surprised with the team talent loaded for a run next year. But the man owes the Packers nor the game anything.

I agree, As much as I despise the packers, i always thought Favre was a great competitor. BUT this does open the NFCN a LOT!!

As you should rejoice all you Purple people, it will be an interesting new chapter to the Green Bay Packers, but watching the Packers will be different for a little while without #4 on the field.

Levels the playing field off big time.. back to the unknowns at QB like most other franchises..

BTW.. nice opening line there Marr.. class act.

    Re: Favre Retires

I'm not sure why I am surprised at this news.
I guess I really thought he would put one more year in given the sucess they had last year with such a young team.

Well...thanks for the memories...can't say I'm not happy at the news though.
    ;D

I think Rogers is going to step in and fill his shoes nicely and keep the Packers a competitive team in the NFCN.
They seem like a young solid team all around and I don't think Favre, as great as he may be, was their biggest reason of success last year.

Interesting little sidenote.. March 4 the story breaks, an a day after Moss resigns with the Pats.

    Re: Favre Retires

Chris Mortensen is reporting that Favre offered to sign on for at least 2 more seasons if they would have signed Randy Moss. After Moss re-signed with the Pats he decided to retire.
Probably not the only reason, but definitely played a part in his decision.
