    Re: favre press conference tomorrow

    I don't understand Bono's sticking up for Favre. In another thread he started, "What is there to look forward to?" he had this to say;

    "bono" wrote:
    I for one, am not so crunked about this coming season's packer/viking games.

    What kind of of a heart-attacked can I get from any other quarterback throwing countless INTERCEPTIONS, than FAVRE?

    Heck, you vikings' fans are better off brewing up a Vikings/Bears big-time rivalry, while my boys focus on the "little things" in football rivals: Lions.

    I'm not sure what the magic date is as far as the bonus but no matter what he won't get it if he doesn't play. That's one of the reasons the Packers aren't pressuring him. At least publically.

    I believe it's a roster bonus. If he's on the roster that day, he collects.

    I'll do some checking.

    Brett Favre is scheduled to receive a $3 million roster bonus from the Packers. The bonus is likely to be pushed back, however, as Favre ponders whether to play another season.

    Under terms of the contract, Favre would become an unrestricted free agent if the Packers did not pay the bonus. But the sides have an understanding that the payment deadline will be pushed back if Favre needs more time to decide on his future.
    The article was from March 16th. That deadline was now pushed out to April 15th, next Saturday.

    The Packers have moved it back, until Favre decides, I believe the original date was the 1st of April (Brett's April Fools joke on his fans?)

    He's says he's not coming back unless they make some offseason moves to improve the team. All the big names are already gone: Hutchinson, Edge, Bently, McGinist, Pryce, Peterson ect.....

    There isn't a whole lot that they can do to improve the team this offseason. Thompson is a improve through the draft GM. Favre is done in Green Bay. Jevon Walker doesn't want to play there. They could be the worst team in the NFC North again.

    As far as Favre is concerned< i personally don't think it's really about what the Packers are going to do to better the team. I think it's Favre's insecurities about not knowing how good he is anymore. That's just my opinion.
