Favre: Packers wouldn't pay Moss

Press-Gazette

“He was going to wipe his contract clean and sign for $3 million guaranteed, plus a fourth-round draft pick. That would have been a steal. But we were not willing to guarantee part of that $3 million. I even had (agent) Bus (Cook) call up there and tell them I would give up part of my salary to guarantee that part of the money. Apparently that wasn’t enough, either.”

I didn't see the crying either.

I am just glad Moss went to NE and not GB or I would have been the one crying.

NE just out played GB.
GB was in the hunt for a long time, they just never stepped up and made a great offer.
That is what they get for not making more of a serious effort earlier to obtain Moss.

Moss wanted less money from the better team, well, less guaranteed.

Packers offered him 3 million, with X amount guaranteed.

NE offered him 3 million with no guaranteed money, and he took it.

He wants to win

Actually, the story above says that neither team offered to guarantee any of the 3 million......
So in other words, he went to the better team, for the same deal.
I don't even know what Thompson was thinking.... that he could get him for free, or did he not want him on the team and was trying to apease Lord Favre..

By the way.... if Favre ever got traded, I would become a big fan ;D

Thanks Lotza!

Now that his lordship is talking to the press about how unhappy he is how favre (far) off are the rumors regarding a trade to relocate his crown to a new city.
Last year Favre might of gone to New Orleans but they don't need him now, Falcon's may need a QB sooner if Vick goes to the dogs :P....or the Bears might decide to go and replace Rex with a older interception machine.

I just wonder why a cornerstone of the cheese nation has a golf tournment during the same time frame as mini camp and has "hey look at me" press quotes and isn't focused on being with his team....or talking about the charity he's raising money for.

Re: Favre criticizes Packers over Moss

Favre wasn't crying in the article.
I could understand the frustration he must feel when he wants to play on a winning team.
Don't get me wrong I do not want Favre to be happy (believe me).
However, you can't fault the guy for wanting to win games.
Moss may have brought that to GB.
I am glad he went to NE.

The above is just a little reality check.

Now, here is what I really want to say.
Favre is a crybaby.
Wah, wah, wah.
He sucks!
Boo hoo

I guess the Pac are trying to alienate thier fans as much as possible. Piss them off by not making the trade for Moss and now have your "Icon" for the team wanting out as well.

Moss' still sticking it to the Packers even though he's no longer a Viking
Because I'm a Vikings fan, they are that much sexier.
