FASSEL OUT AS RAVENS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

A league source tells us (and a reader advises us that there's a radio report to this effect) that the Ravens have fired offensive coordinator Jim Fassel.

And to think that some wanted to hire him as the Vikes head coach!

I don't understand how baltimores O could be so bad...I mean Billick ran and awesome O when he was here...I find it hard to believe that after all of these years he couldn't get all of the right cogs to run the O he is capable of.

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick decided to part ways with former offensive coordinator Jim Fassel after Fassel bristled at the idea of Billick becoming more involved with the offensive play-calling. According to a team source, Fassel felt Billick had already intervened enough throughout the season. Billick ultimately dismissed Fassel in order to end the ongoing power struggle over the offense.

Of course, that wasn't that long ago.
He had his moments, a few against the Vikings that I'll never forget.
After his post-SB downhill slide with the Jints his career has been circling the drain.

Dont be surprised to see Fassel land somewhere here in the organisation, wasnt there talk about him and Wilf being friends, and therefore there was also talk about him being the new HC?
