Re: Falcons to release Vick

I think Mike Vick got a bad deal.
Lets compare his case to Dante Stallworth.
Stallworth has had multiple DUI/DWI arrests and this last time he KILLED a man.
Let me repeat that......he KILLED a man.
And he gets 30 days.
Granted he will get 10 years probabtion (big deal), 1000 hours of community service, and pay an undisclosed monetary compensation amount to the victims family
- he killed a MAN.

I realize dogs are living creatures as we are and Vick did his crime(s) intentionally.
But Stallworth is a repeat offender who killed a man.

I agree that Vick got a bad deal, especially because of the media.

I think the Stallworth verdict is fine though. However, I do see your point, I made a similar comparison with Leonard Little.

Vick didn't get a bad deal. Stallworth may have gotten by easier but one factor to consider is intent. I do not believe Stallworth intentionally killed the person while OTOH Vick did commit his crimes with intent and also most of the things he did were pre-meditated. That is what pushes the punishment higher.

+1.
You can tell Stallworth was sincere about his apologies and the fact he manned up and contacted the police instead of running makes me believe his sincerity.
I can't say i condone drinking and driving and killing a man and sincerity sure as heck doesn't make it right.
However, there is a difference whereas Vick was doing some sick crap with those poor dogs intentionally and continued to do it.

I will agree Stallworth may have gotten off easy but I don't agree Vick got a raw deal.
He could have fried in prison for all I care because he is a sick human being.
Stallworth had every intention to make his situation right.
It doesn't take back the life but he did everything to make the situation right whereas Vick basically denied everything until he couldn't anymore.

Wouldn't surprise me, but I hope for his sake it's only a rumor.

Michael Vick's lawyer denies disgraced QB spent first night at strip club

NEWS WIRE SERVICES
Thursday, July 23rd 2009, 3:32 PM

RICHMOND, Va. - A lawyer for Michael Vick says the quarterback did not spend his first night of freedom at a Virginia Beach strip club.

Attorney Larry Woodward says Thursday that Vick was not in Virginia Beach on Monday night and has not been to any strip club.

Woodward says reports of such activity are "absolutely, categorically false."

Stallworth had never had a DUI
prior to this, he had never been arrested for any reason.
