When Todd Weiner retired and Wayne Gandy got even older, the Falcons all of a sudden had a clear need for some depth at tackle. And if the Falcons are looking for a potentially reasonably priced tackle who could step in an start if needed, there is no better target than Titans' tackle Daniel Loper.

Loper has only started one game in his Titans' career, but it was a big one, as he played well against the Chargers during the 2007 playoffs. The only reason he's not been a starter is because the Titans have two equally young and even more talented tackles ahead of him...

I got it...

The front office realizes Childress is a joke.

Zygi does not.

The only way Zygi will let Childress go is if the team is an embarrassment.

I think the FO is deliberately demolishing the team to ensure that Childress gets the axe next year. It falls in line perfectly with Marrdro's theories of the FO and Chilly's role in recruiting players too.

It's fail proof.

Damn, 2 out of three.
Could be really taken as 3 out of 4 if you consider Greer before I switched to Carr.......

If this keeps up I guess we will have more of our 2009 draft class make the roster than I thought based on who has gone and what we have done in FA...... :'(

To be fair, we've been spoiled the past two (hell, three) offseasons in regards to FA signings.

We still have pretty good talent in the starting spots (sans OL) and we are pretty good at the skill positions (sans QB... Go Jackson).

With that said, I think the FO has their heads up their asses.

Well, he hasn't signed yet, and the article does bring up one good point:

Loper is in town today to talk to the Falcons, although there does seem to be one big problem. After spending the past several years stuck behind Michael Roos and David Stewart, Loper is looking to leave Tennessee for a starting job. And while the Falcons have a big need for some depth on the line, there isn't any spot where Loper would be the likely starter.
