Its pretty sad when the biggest news out of Minnesota during the FA period is when the entire front office attends a workout for a college QB.. All these lists of what is happening around the league, and the Vikings aren't on any of them..

I also have seen several lists of the worst moves so far in NFL free agency.
The Vikings haven't been on any of those lists, either.

    I agree.
    Overpaying now due to a
( warning to those who read posts aloud or in their mind: a tongue twister follows ) 'free agent feeding frenzy' will often result in cutting
players in the future when their contract bonus payments become too prohibitive to retain them.

Paying a large bonus up front, and a relatively flat salary structure in future years will allow the Vikings to maintain roster continuity.
    Atta boy, Brzezinski!

    Good job!

The only way the Vikings can compete to sign these guys in 2007, with a $109m salary cap, is to make offers with punitive roster bonuses that mean they won't be able to retain them for the long run.
That's not the master plan laid out by the 'Triangle of Authoritarianism'.

When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !
