He has told his new agents, Bruce and Ryan Tollner, that his main objectives are playing for a playoff contender, preferably in a warm-weather city, and to be a starter.

Updating a previous item, Michael Smith and Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, report the New England Patriots have agreed to terms with free agent WR Donte' Stallworth (Eagles) on a six-year, $33.1 million contract. The deal, however, can be as short as one year or as long as six seasons. Stallworth will receive an initial signing bonus of $1 million, a roster bonus of $1.6 million and a $300,000 workout bonus, to go along with his 2007 base salary of $700,000, totaling $3.6 million for the 2007 campaign. However, for the team to retain Stallworth for the 2008 season, they must pay him an option bonus of $6 million by Feb. 25. Also, a subsequent roster bonus of $2 million would be due March 1, as well as a second roster bonus of $1.6 million based on playing time, a base salary of $1 million and a $400,000 workout bonus. Stallworth would earn $11 million for 2008, or a two-year total of $14.6 million. If the Patriots were to keep Stallworth for 2009, they would have to pay a $2 million option bonus by Feb. 25 of that year. Including terms of bonuses and base salary, Stallworth would earn $5 million in 2009, for a three-year total of $19.6 million. The final three seasons of the contract include workout bonuses of $500,000 each and base salaries of $4 million each.

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reporting for the Sporting News, reports with the release of unrestricted free-agent OG Adam Timmerman, the starting right guard job belongs to St. Louis Rams C Richie Incognito. Incognito spent most of the 2006 season playing center, but right guard is Incognito's natural position, and is probably his best.

Sports, reports free agent OL Sean Mahan (Buccaneers) signed a five-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers worth $5 million in the first year of the deal and averages out to just under $3.5 million per year, according to a league source. Mahan has been promised the team's starting center spot, according to sources.

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports free agent RB Chris Brown (Titans) expects to receive a multi-year contract offer from one of the several teams he has met with, according to a league source. However, another alternative could have Brown re-signing with the Tennessee Titans to a one-year deal loaded with incentives and then hit the market again in 2008. Brown would potentially be able to earn more on that type of deal if he were to beat out RB LenDale White for the starting job.
