Ex-Saints QB sues Titans for mascot ending his season

Ex-Saints QB sues Titans for mascot ending his season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Ex-Saints quarterback Adrian McPherson is suing the Tennessee Titans because their mascot hit him with a golf cart before the second half of an August exhibition.

McPherson filed his civil lawsuit Friday in Davidson County Circuit Court and also is seeking $5 million in compensatory damages for the Titans' negligence and $15 million in punitive damages. A team spokesman said Monday afternoon the Titans were aware of the lawsuit but had no further comment.

The quarterback was on the field Aug. 12 warming up when T-Rac, the Titans' mascot played by director of mascot operations Pete Nelson, hit him with a golf cart while throwing items into the stand.

McPherson missed the rest of the game with a deep bruise in his right knee, and the Saints cut him on Sept. 2.

He was signed by the Austin Wranglers of the Arena Football League in November.

The NFL did not sanction the Titans for the incident but reminded all teams that mascots must stay outside of a six-foot boundary around their fields.

It would suck to work your ass off your whole life and finally make it to the pros only to be taken out by a wussy looking mascot.
I believe that is enough of a sign that it is time to look for a different career.

Can you guys tell me where "jiggly butt" comes from?
I see it on here all the time and I'm new to the boards, but I still laugh when I see it. I know the 1st time i saw it was when used to refer to Mike Williams being outta shape in Lions camp.

About the article, that QB is a bum.
I hate to see people sue over stuff like this.
That QB is just some idiot looking for a lot of money because he can't get it anywhere else.

No, this time, I think the law suit has merit. He was on the field, warming up, doing his job. The mascot was driving where he should have been driving, and hit him, which ended his pre-season, and potentially his NFL career. True, he may make it back to the league, but getting back in a second time is harder than getting in the first time around. Even if he was a career clip-board holder, that would be good for a couple million, at least (over a few years). This guy has a legit reason to say that he has suffered financially due to the negligence of the Titans organization.

Now, somebody that spills hot coffee in their lap at a McDonalds, and sues for millions because McDonalds didn't tell him the coffee would be hot, that's differnt story. Frivolous law suits piss me off as much as anyone else. I just don't think this case is frivolous.

I agree, sounds like he has a legitimate case to me as well.
