Jeff Backus, who spent his college career playing in front of 100,000 fans at Michigan Stadium, thinks the Lions have hurt themselves by putting their crowd into a stupor.

"Guys will say that it doesn't matter if the fans are behind us, but when you are playing in an enthusiastic stadium, it pumps you up," he said. "Look at the Metrodome - that's one of the toughest places to play in football because of the fans, and we've lost that here.
