    Re: Eli > Peyton

Peyton is better and it's not even close.
Eli has a career passer rating of 75.2, Peyton has a career passer rating of 94.3.
In his first 4 season Peyton had 111td passes, Eli had 79.
The most touchdowns in a season by Eli is 24, Peyton has never had fewer than 26 and as many as 49.
    Career numbers
    Eli 61 games
    1071 of 1937, 55.3% 12417yds, 83tds, 65ints qb rating 75.2
    Manning 164games
    3564 of 5559, 64.1% 42657yds, 311tds, 158ints qb rating 94.3

Per game Eli has 1.2968tds and 1.0655 ints
Per game Peyton has 1.8963tds and .9634ints.

Peyton is one of the greatest QBs to ever play, I doubt Eli will ever eclipse him(he might be better for a couple of years near the end of Peytons career) but career wise Eli will never catch his big bro.

Funny how the author ignored some of the most important stats for a QB
    (TDs and INTs)

You could probably add yards to that, but that would blow the authers arguement out of the water.

Eli might, and I repeat MIGHT be playing better at this specific time in this specific season. Peytons knee is obviously bothering him. He is still making some amazing plays with little help from his OL. I have no doubt that his game will be back by the end of the season. Indy could be very dangerous in the playoffs if they feel they have something to prove.

"Could" She-li be better than Peyton at some point?
Perhaps when it's all said and done and both have retired She-li will have surpassed Peyton.....but that's certainly not the case yet.

She-li hit a fantastic hot streak right around mid-December of last year, and he's been on fire ever since....but remember, he's still the guy we pick-6ed 3 times in a single game last season.

Someday he may eclipse Peyton...but not yet.

I personally don't think you can look at stats at QB and by that say how good a guy is. There are too many intangibles. Eli has a ring, and I bet that there are 10 QBs with a higher QB rating last year, but did they do "it" at the right time to advance their team at exactly that right moment ? I would rather have a QB who hits that critical 3rd down pass when the blitz is coming in January and it is 15 degrees out, than a QB who lights up the Arizona Cardinals secondary twice a year when it is 85 degrees and the secondary guys are thinking about where they are going to be playing golf in the off-season.

    Re: Eli > Peyton

Peyton just does to many things besides throw the ball and hand it off.
Peyton actually runs the offense and probably does not even need an offensive coordinator,
Eli on the other hand needs a Coordinator at the time being.
Perhaps someday Eli will be able to run an offense as good as Peyton but that has yet to be seen.

    She-li.
That is the perfect name for him.

    haha QFT.
Its a nice story, but its not even close for a direct comparison.
    Peyton > Eli. Read: period.
Now if you would like to discuss value, that is a different story.
Eli > Peyton if you take Eli's % of salary cap vs. Peyton's.
What that allows for is a better team around Eli... which gives him better value.

But to say Eli is a better QB than Peyton is complete retardedness, seriously.

Eli has been booed in New York (which, for NFL purposes, is located in New Jersey)
Probably never booed more loudly than in Nov 2007 v. the Vikings.

The Giants are a better team overall than the Colts, but I would still give the nod to Peyton, although the gap is narrowing IMO.
