For his career Eli has a lower completion percentage, lower average per attempt, lower QB rating, fewer rushing yds and tds and average, than........Tarvaris Jackson
he also comes through in the clutch.
Winning on the road in the playoffs at Tampa, Girls, Lamblow, and then pounding on the undefeated Patriot in the SB definitely elevated him into a clutch type guy.
He is still a "meow".
That was 1 of his 4 playoff appearances, the other 3 were 1 and dones, 2 at home.
as a young player, with a young supporting cast, which if I recall, we've been giving TJ a free pass for that same reason as well.
At least he leads his team to the playoffs consistently.
TJ hasn't done that yet.

All bias and utter dislike towards Manning aside, I'd take Manning over TJ anyday.
Hopefully TJ can prove me wrong this season.

I like the give him a pass for his first one.. Not 3 outta 4

He was the first overall pick I would expect him to play better then Jackson and not get lucky one year in the playoffs and suck slick willy the others
he was a first overall because he's Peytons Brother.
Can't fault him because teams are dumb enough to take him that high.
However, He's shown far more in his time in the league than TJ has.
In his first 3 years he did less than tjack IMHO.

if TJ wins a superbowl, then he's as good as Manning, since Manning did it with a far less talented team.

Only things Eli has on Jackson are staying healthy and getting a lucky ring

Shit even Dilfer and Brad Johnson have done that.. It took Peyton the best QB in the league arguably how many years

Marino didn't ever win one.. I don't think Eli is better then him

no, and I'm not basing Eli's success based on the fact that he has a ring, but he led the Giants to a superbowl, whereas Dilfer and Johnson were just along for the ride.
Difference there.
Marino just didn't get any breaks.
The Giants weren't THAT good, but Eli played well when it mattered.
Would I want him here?
On principle alone.. No.

then we agree.
If TJ gets better as expected, that could change, but at this point, I'd rather have Mannin minus the little bitch part of him.

Far less talented team?
Dude, take off the purple goggles... the Giants had a great team that year... #1 rushing attack that was 3 RB's deep, a great O Line, a go to receiver in Plax, a clutch receiver in Steve Smith (even as a rookie, all he caught was 1st downs), and a D line that made Tom Brady cry to his super model GF.
We are a go to WR and O Line consistency away from being as talented as the Giants were that year, we are no where near more talented.
The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.

Yes, I stand by what I say.
The team as a whole played lights out near the end, but I think we had more talented players on our team.

I also believe you are mixing last years giants team with their superbowl giants team.
Two years ago, we had the #1 rush offense that was also 3 RB's deep.
We had no go-to guy, but solid everywhere else.
We were in a position to overtake the Giants in the seeding, but we choked hard.
Losses in weeks 16 and 17 helped ensure we didn't even get a shot. (Disclaimer - I don't blame week17 on TJ, but week 16 was brutal)

In 2007 we were in the bottom 5 in reciever talent, the giants were top 5.
