Yes, it’s almost time for that most mysterious of NFL events, the annual supplemental draft, organized for eligible players who did not declare for the main draft in April. It’s scheduled for Thursday.....

The Supplemental Draft is held before each season for players who want to enter the NFL but, for one reason or another, were not a part of the traditional draft.

The Vikings did not take a player in today’s supplemental draft, according to the NFL. San Diego selected Georgia CB Paul in the fourth round, while Baltimore used a fifth-round pick to get Maryland OT Jared Gaither.

Nebraska OT Chris Patrick was not drafted. Patrick, like the other seven eligible players who went undrafted, can now sign with any team as a rookie free agent.

"Chris Patrick/OL/University of Nebraska: According to a league source, a top AFC team has actually given Patrick a fourth-round grade, but because they have quality depth at the position that team is unlikely to select him tomorrow. The Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Jets have shown strong interest in the former Cornhusker. The Jets bear watching. They are unlikely to use a pick in the draft to select Patrick, but could make a run at him if he becomes a free agent. With the Pete Kendall situation unsettled, Patrick, a left tackle in college who projects to GUARD in the NFL could be attractive to the team."

    Eventual replacement for Artis Hicks???

I have been thinking all along that this is the guy we could potentially go for.

I think it'll be a run for him now as an UDFA

Thanks to PPE for the sig.
