We have some things other than just money to spend going for us..

    1) We are a good team, on the brink of being something speical, a Champion..... I belive this is something players the likes of James and Alexander also look for. They want to be paid fairly but also they want to play for a team that is a winner not a loser...

    2) A high profile player could have some impact on a new stadium deal, who wouldn't love the fact that they could state, I helped in bringing a new stadium to the team and get a chance to start and play in it on opening day.....

These are just two for now, can any of you think of some other reasons, other than money, players would want to come here?....

I think you hit it Ned! Players, even though money is the biggest reason they leave in Fa, they still want a chance to make alot of money, and still have a chance to win a SB. In that list, I really like E. James, S. Alexander, and J. Lewis. I think our best option is James.

I would never want A. Green on the Vikes, not just because he was a Packer, but now that he had that injury. I never really thought he was that great to begin with. RT Jon Runyan, and LG Steve Hutchinson really could add alot to this team. Imagine that line with McKinney, Hutchinson, Birk, Runyan. Wow, that would be awesome..

IF we need a running back then let us do it in the draft. I don't want to mess with our cap room going after an expensive RB that would only give us hope for a couple maybe a few upcoming years.
We have $24 Million in cap room, and Edgerrin James is 28 he's never really been injured, he easily still has 4 years left.
24 mil under the cap? there are teams 30 mil over the cap, heck that gives us atleast 50mil to spend

I'm suprised Runyan's name isn't mentioned more around here when it comes to FA lineman.....If you do a search, I mentioned him a few weeks back as being someone we should seriously look at...He still has a couple if not a few solid years left in him.....

And making a choice between Runyan and Rosenthal, is like choosing between a Big Juicy Prime Rib or a McDonalds Hamburger...

    I think I'll take the Rib...(Runyan)

Ned Owned with that last post! Exactly...I've been thinking for the past couple days...we shouldnt get Ray lewis, and maybe not even get james......but right now this isnt a "rebuilding" team, But now I realize we're right on the outside lookin in. We know we're much better then a 9-7 ball club! We can all agree we got one of hell of a team, 2 or 3 studs away from greatness! Players like Edge and Ray Lewis would be perfect at this point.(For a reasonable price ofcourse) Thier what we need to put us over the hill...we're so close, this team we've been building slowey and surley for the past 3-4 years...is so close to being Champs...and we need these vet playmakers to help get us over the hump! This is not a Texans ball club, this is not a Browns ball club...this is a Viking ball club...who is knockin at the door...Childress will come in and make a immediate impact in our season next year, I promise you that. Mark it. We're so close..thats all im saying...Edge could be that piece we havnt had since smith....he could be that piece...with Daunte coming back more determinded then ever to prove all of you wrong(the haters that is) with a Defense FULL of Studs! An offense whose probowl leader is returing too...Edge or Alexander or any stud Vet Play maker would put us that much closer.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!
"I promise everyone this. When Childress is let go in two years I can honestly say this.

Is the prime rib an end cut? And you should be careful ned, those mcdonalds burgers as cheap as they are, are quite addicting. Maybe it's the crack they put in there I don't know...

Look at what Corey Dillon did for the Patriot offense (two SBs)...and look at how the Patriots struggled this season when Dillon was out. We NEED a STUD RB to run behind our reconstructed OL...that will free up our WRs and QB in the passing game...and allow us to grind out the clock after our defense shuts down the other team at the end of games!
