James ready to move on
Pro Bowl running back says signals are clear he has played his final game in Colts uniform
DETROIT -- Edgerrin James has resigned himself to the fact his playing days with the Indianapolis Colts are over.
"I don't see nothing happening,' he said Thursday night after a taping session here with the NFL Network. "You can read between the lines and from the things I'm hearing, nothing's going to happen.
"And that's crazy, man. I'm part of the solution, I'm not part of the problem. Crazy, man.'
The Colts retained James for the 2005 season by naming him their "franchise' player. He played his seventh season under a one-year, $9.1 million contract.
The team had no comment Thursday night on James' statements......

Re: Edge.James ready to move on
Childress already said that the Edge's price tag is too high for the Vikes, I'd love it to happen, but I don't see this wish coming true...
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
I don't think that SA and EJ will find their value that they are looking for.
$9.1 million is a lot of dough, I wouldn't want to pay that much, it seems like there are plenty of goo d backs out there, the trick is to stay healthy.
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
Many people have said it and I'll say again, without a line it doesn't matter who we plug into RB position it won't be much better than last year. We need to focus on the o-line and then look at the talent pool that is left after all the superstar money grubbing backs are gone and see if any of them would fit the scheme better than the backs that we have.
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
Yep, we need to focus on the line first. You know this, I know this, and thank God Childress knows this too! I would love to pick up edge, but only after we shore up both of our lines.
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
I think Edge was really underutilized in Indy. I wouldn't mind seeing him in purple next year...for a decent price that is.
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
It was only 9 Mill because he was franchised.. He would be more 3-5 Mill..
I would definitley do this if we could.. Offense is our problem.. Sounds like Wilf doesn't think it's gonna happen though which sucks

Did anyone else find it really odd to read that line?
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
What's odd about that? Our D was playing VERY good.. And doesnt need many changes..
Our Offense had trouble moving the ball and couldn't get any 3rd downs.. Not many points either
Re: Edge.James ready to move on
James would definately sure up the run game and make our team 1million times better all on his own.
That being said, this is the Vikings. They would rather throw five dump trucks full of money at Fred Smoot then pay quality cash for a key component like James.
