Drew Brees a one year wonder?

So far this year the Chargers are 0-2 and Brees has 2 tds 3 picks and a QB rating of 67.0. After the year he had last year is it wrong to think that he could be a one year wonder? What does everyone think?

I don't think he's a one-year wonder. Are we (or haven't we been) saying the same thing about Culpepper?

I think he will survive in the NFL. He really didn't get better last year, but he was consistent. He has only started in 15 games so far in his career so it's too early to call him a flop. He very likely could turn into a career backup if he doesn't get it together pretty quickly, Philip Rivers is chomping at the bit. We will see.

I don't think you know who should be starting there. He's gonna get traded.

rivers is gonna be traded. hopefully, so the chargers can use the draft pick to draft more defense. brees will be the starter there for some time to come.

I have a different viewpoint. I am a firm believer that you need two capable QB's in today's NFL. QB's just don't last. Brees has been average and at times, better than average. So the Chargers are better off having him around. Rivers (if he fullfils the media's prophecy) is ready to step in and be "one of the best".

Here in St. Louis, the Rams have Jammie Martin (there are no other QB's out there?) as the backup QB. This is a guy the Rams have already let go once. If Bulger goes down, the Rams are in serious trouble.

Some teams like the Vikes go with the physically large QB hoping they can endure the punishment. So far Culpepper has lasted but he is far from the best QB because of his large turnover ratio.
