    Re: Draft Grades and Judgements

Lol ... these are so funny ... people are all over the place. Some love the 49ers draft ... some love the Seahawks, some hate both of them.
Almost everyone seems to be pretty even keel on us though. Even got ourselves a solid A- from one guy who thinks all five of our picks will contribute.
Of course ... per usual ... Kiper is never excited by the Vikes.

I just look at it this way: We had the best day 1 possible. Harvin was certainly top 3 when it comes to BPA at 22. Sure we could have taken Oher, but then we enter the second round still needing an offensive playmaker, when all offensive playmakers have been taken.

Loadholt at 54 was the best possible pick after already acquiring Harvin. I'm still iffy as to whether he will start right away, but I certainly cannot name a player I would have rather had at 54.

I still have trouble comprehending that Maclin almost fell to us. I would have cried. No way he gets past Philly, or Cleveland though, even if they did pass on him twice.
Yeah ... the second the Raiders went Heyward-Bey I told my wife ... shit ... Maclin might fall to us! Got awfully close, but still happy with the Harvin pick. And outside of the "issues" liked Harvin as much if not more than Maclin anyways.
Also ... I would have loved Beatty ... but I am not that against Loadholt. I think Loadholt's feet are a little better than most give him credit for, but Beatty did not have many question marks at all ... just needs a little more size.

The Raiders...the unmistakable reigning champions of the worst drafts in recent memory.

    MONDAY MORNING QB

    • Minnesota. Percy Harvin needs the best babysitter in the great north woods. Brad Childress' fate may rest with whether Harvin keeps his head on straight ... Phil Loadholt, the biggest, baddest tackle on the board, also has NFL people who don't trust him to be an Eagle Scout, but he should walk onto the team as the starting right tackle.

Thanks for all the updates/reads guys.

Interesting take about George and his efforts to get PH on the squad.

That's the first draft report card I've read that gave the Vikings a higher grade than all the other NFC North teams.
