Draft analysis: Best values, sleepers & flops

Finding value in the first half of the draft, pinpointing the most talented rookies and veterans in the draft's second half, avoiding flops early and spotting deep sleepers in the late rounds will give owners a significant head start on the league title.

Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota

Unlike former Vikings first-round pick Michael Bennett, Peterson has the extensive track history to become a productive back and consistently produce big plays. Minnesota's first-round rookie will have a chance to rush for 1,000 yards and score double-digit touchdowns behind a strong offensive line anchored by Pro Bowlers Matt Birk (center), Steve Hutchinson (guard) and Bryant McKinnie (tackle) manning the left side. The presence of Chester Taylor will help keep Peterson's injury risk low while keeping him fresh to explode for a big run against tired defenses in the fourth quarter.

Unlike the innovator of the whizzinator, AP very well may be the SOD. And Rice has the potential to make a big impact too.

How can he be undervalued?
He hasn't even touched the ball!
He could easily become a flop if injuries get the best of him . . . just like their description of this guy!

Cedric Benson, RB, Chicago

Benson carried 1,112 times as a four-year starter at Texas, but injuries have derailed his first two seasons with the Bears. He has yet to show he can handle the full-time duties in the pros and appears to be more susceptible to injuries after his extensive usage in college.
