    Re: Dr.Z's preseason NFL rankings

I think he has the Vikes projected to be 13-3 this season in SI....his purple shades are a tad thicker than mine

I'm thinking 10-6 or 11-5 will be a good season and clouds do have a purple tint when I look up

Dr. Z has about as much NFL insight as a cocker spaniel.

I like Dr Z, and all of you haters need to shove it. The man has more insight than half the writers of all these Viking articles and nobody really says anything about them. He also was one of the few who picked the Giants to win the big one last year.

Well, picking one game doesn't make you right on everything else.
Even if it was a big upset, lots of people picked the Giants.
    I picked the Pats.

    But I think he's alright.
He has good and bad moments.
I like that he's one of the few guys that actually looks at game tape of guys.
When he does his all-pro team, he doesn't just spit out the same guys everyone else does.
He goes through and grades the linemen on how they actually played.

In other words, he actually does some work.
I have a hard time saying he's a complete hack when that's the case.

He also does a pretty good job of bringing up comparisons to older guys and putting perspective on the game.
    So a few good things.
And then you either like his writing style or you don't.

The one thing I would say is that his prediction efforts and abilities are no greater than that of any other reporter.
This just in from every writer in the country:
"All but two NFL teams predicted to finish with the exact same record they did last year."

When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

I hate reading his stuff. He always writes "The redhead says...". Like I care. I want football analysis, not Oprah Winfrey, and I also don't care who he is married to and what color her hair is. I am an NFL fan, for god sake ! I just don't like the man's picks or his "cute" style.

I also predicted the Giants to beat the Patriots before the Show. My reasoning was that any team that can go on the road and run the table like they did in December, would win it.

Plus, I recall Dr. Z (what is his PhD in again ?) being wrong about us so many times. I used to laugh at how wrong his picks were. Whenever he predicted we would win, we would lose, and vis-versa.

Didn't he pick us to win the Super Bowl two years ago?
;D (or was it three years ago) At my age time flies too fast.

Pretty confident there was some acid involved in the original pick!

I always thought there might be some (a lot!) of that going on with this guy!
Its better to lose the first game than the last one.
