DAVIE - A day after coach Tony Sparano confessed he was no longer "out of the hurtin'-people's-feelings business,' the Dolphins cut veteran kicker Jay Feely, who was coming off one of the most accurate field-goal kicking seasons in NFL history...

He was 21 for 23 in FGs last year.
I'm not sure the distances he missed but that's over 91%.
Can't complain about that.
There must be other factors for the Dolphins to cut him.

because Parcells is gutting that team and starting over.

True but it doesn't mean you cut a consistent FG kicker.because Parcells is gutting that team and starting over.
There has to be other reasons such as attitude or whatever.
Unless he has really sucked in the preseason and the rookie is out-kicking him.

i agree there's gotta be something.
Or maybe he's remembering back to the NYG/SEA game a few years back when Feely missed about 3 game winning field goals.
Feely isn't that terrific, otherwise Atlanta and New York wouldn't have let him go.
His career percentage is only 80, which isn't bad, but isn't terrific.
