Re: Does Rex get the reigns in '07?

Exactly, Brad Johnson has a ring. REX decided to throw it to the other team....

I personaly think rexy doesnt even belong in the NFL. He needs to go play in Europe or something. I cant even stand watching him play, he sucks that bad.

Last time I checked.... Brad Johnson has a ring.

Thats more then Rex can say.
So does Terry Bradshaw, but that doesn't mean that Grossman isn't a better starting QB right now.

Look at the regular season, at least Grossman put together some really good games with his bad ones.
All Brad put together was average, or more often than not, freakin' horrible.
I'd be willing to say that most the teams in the NFL have backups who would play better than Brad did.

All I am saying is Brad Johnson is a much better QB then Rex.
Always has been, always will be.

Don't you think I would be biased because Rex was a Gator?

I am just saying how it is.

I want to say that Griese will be the starter next season, but I have a feeling that Rex will still be in there when the season starts.. I know Lovie Smith will say that Rex is the guy that got them there, when we all know that it was their defense that won them their games..

I wonder what will happen to Mr. Jeckyl/Hyde in '07.
I hope he stays in as the starting QB for the bores this year.
A circling the drain Favre and Grossman and.....the Lions.
Makes the NFCN look better for '07.
Pretty much, the Sex Cannon has had one full season as the starter.
And he led them to the Super Bowl as the starter.

I don't see how you could possibly bench him.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I think the issue with Grossman is that the good games he put together were handed to him on a platter by his Defense.
Anyone can look good when playing on a short field...and Rexy had a LOT of those handed to him.
Further, he often played well when his team played rotten teams - another element shared by almost everyone else.

What Rex lacks is anything in his portfolio that stands out as being something HE accomplished.
He has no achievments that he earned on his own merits to offset the plethora of horrible mistakes he has made.
So, due to that lack, his mistakes stand out even more.

But, even with all of that, he has a better than even chance of starting again next season because - quite honestly - Chicago doesn't have anything there to knock him out.
Griese tried and failed to take the starting spot...and looked pretty sad in relief the time I did see him play.
So, barring Chicago going after a FA QB (like the Velvet Eagle or Matt Schaub), who takes over for Rexy?

Chicago, this season, was a QB away from winning the Superbowl...I doubt they make it back next season.
