I always liked Dilfer I think he would be a great backup/ insurance policy if Brad goes down. I don't like our backups right now!!
We should pick up Bruce Eugene as a cheap insurance policy in case Tarvaris flops...we could send him to NFL Europe for a few years to develop. He would light it up over there!

And all the Browns got was a 7th round draft pick in 2007 and Dorsey.
Sucks to be the 9ers.....they just lost another top 10 pick for the 2007 Draft by bringing in Dilfer. LOL Seriously, though, he may just be able to help get them into the middle picks, say, 15-20?
Good trade, but we need a good back up now.
Trent Dilfer will mostly serve as a mentor for Alex Smith, and a back up just incase Smith gets hurt.
But I do think this is a good move by the 49ers, now we need to get a backup quarterback.
I dont see Dilfer taking over as the starter unless Smith gets injured or has the same season he did last year. But i do think this is a great move. Didnt give up much and Dilfer should really help Smith.

It's not our trade dude, it's the 9er's, we don't need two 10 + year vets.
