Digital TV conversion fast approaching
Quick question for all of you die hard tailgaters....
Lets face it.....the best seat in the house for watching a game....is in your house, watching the game.
We fans that go to live sporting events do so for the atmosphere.
The entire event THAT IS game day.
(or at least thats why I shell out a boat load of cash to go to games)
On the West Coast, most of the games are played in the afternoon.
When I go to games, I arrive when the parking lots open up, set up the grill, and set up the portable TV to watch the pregames and first games of Sunday....waiting for our game to kick off at 1pm.
(I would imagine that just the opposite happens in the East where morning games are the norm....after the game, you hang out, BBQ, and watch some of the afternoon games)
With this Digital TV conversion, unless you have a generator in the parking lot for the conversion boxes, you might as well throw away all of your portable TV's....they will be nothing more then landfill after February 2009.
My understanding is that there are digital portable TVs....but they are expensive and do a pretty poor job of receiving over the air digital signals.
Any idea's out there?
Any solutions other then generators to power converter boxes?
I read an article today that said more then 6 million portable tv's (battery or car adapter powered) will become useless garbage in a couple months.
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.
