I'm tired of fans and the team settling for mediocrity every year... this post only strengthens my feelings.

It's called a 'Losing Mentality'... and as Vikings fans, we're groomed into thinking this way.

"We lost because the other teams were good... we're not too bad... If this had happened... If that had happened"

    Same stuff, year after year.
    agreed.
I'm sick of being on the verge of being a good team.

Can't we just once have a 13+ win season and dominate some teams?
showing promise does nothing if they can't turn that into a win.
Why? I'm more than happy to make the playoffs with a 8-8 record. It doesn't matter if you go 10-6 or 16-0 into the postseason, anything could happen

Not sure if you watched the Monday night game... but if we made the playoffs, either one of those teams would DESTROY us...

Hence why I say, I'm tired of this losing mentality and comfortableness with mediocrity.

I want a Super Bowl win... not just a playoff appearance.

As disgusted as I was in losing these 2 winnable games, I feel there's a lot of talent here...and I keep thinking back to what the Giants did last year after it all came together for them. But there's a real need for someone to step up and make some big plays on offense.

Green Bay would destroy us? Come on there were multiple opportunity's to beat the Packers.
I agree with you, i'd love to see us go 19-0 but to keep it real we're not the Patriots.

Exactly, and we didn't pull it off. And that was Rodger's first game... Imagine
how well he'll play if he's in a rhythm.

By the way... Green Bay didn't play last night, I was referring to the Cowboys - Eagles game.

    Ahh,

But both of those teams were far different than they were last year.

    GB replaced their QB
    Had their OL reshuffled
    Lost a DL
And had an offseason with more distraction than any I remember for quite some time.

The colts had a Qb who never played in the preseason
    Lost their starting TE
    Their starting Center
Lost their LT during the game
Had a HOF WR who is still far from 100%

We had a QB who is in his 3rd year starting
An OL who was mostly intact
    Brought in WR talent
    Brought in DL talent
    Have a better run game
    Have the KAO

Overall those two teams had a migration of talent since last year and we had an increase in talent so there certainly is no reason we could have not won.

No one is saying those games were unwinnable, but come on, reagrdless of the offseason, those are two playoff teams we just faced. They will both make the playoffs THIS YEAR. These rank pretty low on the list of bad games during the Chilly era.

Exactly, everyone is freaking out about nothing.
Remember, half of the teams that play every week lose...:-)

Did you think the Vikings would go 16-0? 15-1? That's called a "coo coo" mentality.
I thought the Vikings would win each of the first 2 games, I think they will win against the Panthers. But even if they don't I am not going to panic because I know that every team in the NFL loses games. After 16 games the good teams have won more than they lost, and I think that will include the vikings.
