Denny does what he does best...
pushes the blame to someone else.

Another coordinator out

Hours after former Vikings assistant Brian Billick fired Jim Fassel as the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive coordintaor, ex-Vikings coach Denny Green has given Cardinals offensive coordinator Keith Rowen his walking papers.
Green’s decision came a day after Arizona blew a 20-point lead and lost 24-23 to the Bears on Monday night. Evidently there is a chance Rowen could remain on the Cards staff but he will be replaced by quarterbacks coach Mike Kruczek.
“We are not scoring enough points,†Green told reporters. “That does not just fall on me. It does not just fall on the offensive coordinator. At certain times you have to feel like you have to do something a little bit different, something that we hope will be better for us.â€
Re: Denny does what he does best...
Oh well, Denny is still a good coach with a bad team.
You cannot say he is not a good coach, he is the second best coach the vikings ever had.
BTW, AZ's new stadium is unbelievable!
WOW!!!!
He will turn that team around with a stud QB, two stud WR's, a developing line, the D looked good last night, only the vikings were able to give Rex any trouble this year and they really gave him fits.
Good luck denny, you will be in the playoffs soon enough

That depends on how you define a good coach. He is certainly good at aquiring talent and getting freat talent in drafts, especially on offense. He put together a powerful offensive team here( at the expense of our once powerful defense) and is doing it again in Arizona.
What cannot be denied, however, is his inability to get his teams to rise to the occation at critical times. That may be due to lack of leadership, inability to counter other teams adjustments or any number of things, but one thing that he has yet to overcome is the fact he just plain get beat when it matters most.
Re: Denny does what he does best...
I won't consider him a good coach untill,
he win a superbowl.
He screwed up a long time ago and I won't respect him till then.
Thanks for the post PROPHET
;)
Re: Denny does what he does best...
wait.. is prophet back? What did I miss?
on the subject.. denny is an idiot. the blame will fall on anyone BUT himself.
Re: Denny does what he does best...
i like denny's reaction.
i would have been pissed too. they did have the bears beat,
until they decided to run up the middle on every first down. even though the bears put 8 men in the box.
he is a good regular season coach. he just sucks in the playoffs.

so bud grant is a crappy coach?
Re: Denny does what he does best...
Arizona is a good team with a bad late game coach! denny will do fine in the first half because he wants to jus blow out the opponent the problem he has is he doesnt play like thatg in the 2nd half, he'll jus run the ball a few times and punt any smarrtttt coach would realize going 36 rushes for 55 yards from a premire back would tell you that you should pass the ball!!!!!! and once he gets in the playoffs he will choke again and again!!

It's tough to win at chess when you're using the rules for checkers.
