Dennis Green to coach in the UFL

According to Howard Balzer of the Sports Xchange, the fourth head coach who’ll be introduced at a Wednesday press conference in San Francisco is former Vikings and Cardinals coach Dennis Green.

Green joins Ted Cottrell, Jim Fassel, and Jim Haslett as the men who’ll run the four UFL franchises.

This is the first I've heard about the new league. Competition is good, and it should give Ron Mexico another option.
    ;D
    Good luck to Green.

I haven't even heard about the UFL until now.
Looked it up on Google, and they're planning to have their season in the fall?
Spring seems like it would be smarter to me, considering they'll be competing with the NFL, college ball, and even high school football considering that their plan is to play on Thursdays and Fridays...

This league was supposed to begin this past year from what I heard.
    We'll see how it goes.
I also heard Ron Mexico was going to be wooed by the founders.

I wonder if that's really a way to get a league started?
Some football fans will be willing to look past it, but there will be a lot who will be opposed to the league from the get go simply for this reason.

I guess they could always just cheer for the team playing against him, but still...

I think they are looking at him because he is a "curiosity".
Not to mention he can be an exciting Player (feelings aside).
I personally think Goodell will ban him and since this is a start up league he would be an intriguing draft to say the least.

That's true, it's certainly a gamble if you ask me, but I suppose some exciting player(s) are going to be needed to jump start the league, and there are limited options.
