Releasing quarterback Daunte Culpepper would save the Detroit Lions $5 million on next year's salary cap.

Here's the five players likely to go to save cap money:
• QB Daunte Culpepper -- $5 million
• CB Leigh Bodden -- $4.6 million
• G Edwin Mulitalo -- $2.8 million
• S Dwight Smith -- $2.3 million
• TE Dan Campbell -- $1 million

Bodden is still a good CB and Campbell is a decent TE.
They are just players who are overshadowed by the shittiness which is the Detroit Lions.

Me too...but if Culpepper were to leave the Lions would we sign him? I would love to sign him1 see if he can still be a starting QB.

Me too...but if Culpepper were to leave the Lions would we sign him? I would love to sign him1 see if he can still be a starting QB.

I don't know if Childress and Wilf would resign him. He left on pretty bad terms.

Good grief people.....Culpepper is, should be, and is, gone.

BTW, a few years ago, I was in Orlando, doing curbside check-in with my luggage.
A gold Rolls Royce was parked just ahead of my cab.
A smallish man came out of the back seat, a beautiful (stunning, in fact) woman from the passenger side front seat, and a large, rather authoritative, man emerged out of the driver's seat.
Of course, it was Daunte.
At the time, he was our QB, prior to the injury, prior to the posturing, prior to the whining, prior to the absurd and obvious outward "waaaaah, my new coach likes Donovan more than me" complaining, and the, "I'm not coming to Training Camp unless you suck my ++++," attitude.
It was a pretty impressive display of a guy taking care of a friend (or, brother-in-law), so, I didn't bother him for his autograph.
