Lee Rasizer, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan is impressed with Denver Broncos rookie QB Jay Cutler. "There's a lot of guys who -haven't been in a throwing system where it takes them a while to get used to the drop-backs and reads," said Shanahan. "But he's a four-year starter. He's had a lot of reps through the years against good competition. So he's further ahead than most players would be at this point."

Is he gonna push Plummer out of the starting role this year?

No? Didn't think so.

Even so, fair play to Cutler, he's doing what he can to justify his meteoric rise up the draft.

Hey, maybe when Cutler is ready we can sign Jake and continue our proud tradition of hiring geriatric QB's whose best days are behind them. :wink:

Man, imagine how dangerous denver would have been if they would have drafted an impact player at another position. they were close last year and added javon walker. they could have made the sb jump this year, and competed with the colts.

Viewing Cutler as a bad call for Denver? Wait five years. Instead of making the moves to make one SB push, Shanahan signed players who will contribute to Denver's winning ways for now AND the future. Cutler was a great pick and I still think the Vikes should have traded up to get him.

I don't want to wait 5 yrs, this is the nfl and when you have a window, you take it.

The draft is the future! It was a good pick, they know Jake is not the answer at QB. Jake has some good years left and can play some winning football but he is not a "franchise" QB. Jake has a ton of experience and skill and that goes a long ways.
