Re: Crabtree back to the 2010 draft?

would be hilarious to see Crabtree stand firm, re-enter the draft next year, only to have the Niners draft him again at a much lower spot, and then the Niners offer him even less money

Maybe he'll get lucky and have Detroit ink him and sign him for a couple million extra so he can spend his career in that hellhole of a city and team.

Crabtree has a bigger head than Barry Bonds

He should be slotted as follows:

    10. Michael Crabtree 5 years, $27 million ($16.5 M guaranteed)
    11. Aaron Maybin 5 years, $25 million ($15M guaranteed)

There should be nothing to "negotiate" and no reason for any draftpick to holdout.

    Agreed

He got drafted at 10.. Too fuckin bad

Re: Crabtree back to the 2010 draft?

I think a point here that is missing is attitude! Adrian held out for 3 days but his attitude during that holdout and subsequently appears to have been exemplary. Crabtree is untested as are all rookies at the higher level of the NFL. No one is saying they shouldn't get what they deserve but the best way would be for a standard rookie valuation for the 1st year. At the end of that year the guy can go back to the team and say "I caught 80 passes for 1700 yds and 24 TDs, give me the money I deserve" I think it would act as an incentive to the young players to do well in the 1st year.

The team would have similar obligations towards the player, if he stinks the place a'la Ryan leaf then he got paid hat he was worth. Who can tell me that Jamarcus Russel was worth his deal so far?

Crabtree will re enter the draft and get picked by the Raiders who seem to have a reputation for taking troublesome players. The Vikings team dynamic appears to be better this year than it has been for a while, Do you think the FO would want this imbecile to come in and cause disruption?

I have been watching quite a bit of college ball recently (a first for me) and imho the step up from college to pro is much bigger than I thought it was.
