Besides, Childress would only pick him up if he was released from the Iggles
;D

Re: Cowart released..take him back?
We could stuff the hole with a DE in an emergency if all we want is a slow linebacker!
If it is depth that we require (ie, adding one more body) I would be more in favor of a fast kid that is a project, but has upside....
Plenty of those kids will be cut this weekend....fringe players.... remember, its a back up we are talking about.
Cowert has no appeal other then a recent past with the Vikes...
too slow...bubyeI'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

I don't think it would be worth signing Cowart.
Waste of money IMO.

If I were to rate him against our current LBers, I think he brings the experiance needed.
Sure he may be slower than some of the other guys but he's a leader and he brings experience.
The bottom line here is we probably won't go after him to begin with.
Childress didn't think he would fit in the scheme so he waived him.

Re: Cowart released..take him back?
I don't think Cowart would be a worthwhile pickup. Farwell has stepped up to fill the void that Greeway made, so he would be rarely used.

Re: Cowart released..take him back?
Cowart is a solid LB, but he doesn't fit in with the Tampa 2 LB profile....He lacks the speed.

They all require a roster spot. I'd rather see Cowart taking up one of them than any of the other 3."singersp" wrote:
